‘FLIPPED 2020’ is a celebration of the graduating class of Visual Communication Design 2020. It explores how despite our final year was disrupted and turned upside down due to major events happening in the world, the cohort has come together as a whole to create a stunning grad show, highlighting each individual’s creative efforts. This year has caused a lot of uncertainty, but we have all stuck with our final year of university, even though we were ‘ flipped’.
The use of opposing two colours, one being a bright blue, and the other a pale pink further reinforces the notion of our final year changing unexpectedly. The typeface and other visual elements have been warped to represent the chaos we have all experienced this year. The placement of the type itself in some instances has literally been flipped 180 degrees, further reinforcing this statement.
